Bond with your child through creative communication and self-expression. Strengthen your interaction through songs and musical play. Whether you intend to incorporate sign language in your life for the long term or simply during this pre-verbal and developing verbal time, watch in awe as your child discovers the world of language. See the research come to life, as music and sign language both aid in the development of language and literacy.

Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
Baby Fingers was established as an LLC in January 2000, so we're celebrating our 18th birthday!
What is your primary product or service?
We offer sign language instruction for babies, children, families, and adults through music and yoga. We also offer infant massage, music lessons, and music therapy, professional development and teacher trainings.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I am a music therapist, teacher of the Deaf, and mom to two teens who signed as babies, fully communicating before they could speak. I had already known ASL (american sign language) and studied it's benefits (especially coupled with music) for preverbal children.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We are truly specialists in the field - our curriculum and practices are evidence-based and developmental. Our teaching staff is top notch and includes Deaf mentors. And our families return to us and/or send other families to us time and time again.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Baby Fingers is always expanding to meet the growing needs of our clients. We have multiple NYC metro area locations, including 3 new locations in 2018. We also offer live on-line programs and certification training to bring Baby Fingers outside of our area.
Which areas do you service?
We work with hearing and Deaf children and families with and without special needs.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Lora Heller, MS, MT-BC, LCAT
