Beach volleyball tournaments and leagues, novice to professional level players
East End Volleyball is the largest grass roots beach volleyball organization on the East Coast. Created in 1977, East End Volleyball is entering its 38th season in 2014. Over 7,000 players competed in at least 1 tournament or league during the 2013 season. Events were held in RI, CT, NY, NJ, SC and Florida.
The goal of East End Volleyball is to provide as many playing opportunities for players of all levels. EEVB’s 2 main sites on Long Island, Cedar beach in Babylon and Long Beach both have 50 courts which are completely full every weeknight during the summer.
EEVB leagues and tournaments have divisions for novice to professional level players on 2, 3,4 and 6 person teams. The top players in EEVB’s weekend tournaments have professional level experience. The current Olympic Gold Medalist, Phil Dahlhausser, won 9 EEVB tournaments on his way to the gold medal. Dalhausser and two other winners at EEVB tournaments, Steve Grotowski for Great Britain and Marie Andre-Lessard for Canada, competed in the 2012 London Olympics.
East End Volleyball is one of the founders of Volley America, the largest beach volleyball grass roots organization in the country. We are members of the LI Visitors and Convention Authority/Sports Commission.
